On November 5, 2015, Brazil faced the biggest environmental disaster in its history. The rupture of a dam in Mariana, Minas Gerais, has dumped more than 62 million cubic meters of toxic mud, leading to destruction and death.
Thinking of showing the social, economic and environmental impacts caused one year after the disaster, Lu Marini started the expedition Tracing the Doce River. About a thousand kilometers were crossed between part of the Piranga, Carmo and Gualaxo rivers, responsible for transporting all the mud of ore tailings to the Doce River, and then for all the extension of that same river. He spent 22 days flying over and getting closer to the hidden reality behind who lost everything to the mud.
